I'm sorry to say that the image that is currently being used for Loki is antisemitic. I recognize that this is an 18-year-old image from Deities & Demigods 3e, but that's not the point. The hunched man rubbing his hands, with black hair, a long nose, and specifically those scowling, smirking features (looking recognizably Ashkenazi) is a known antisemitic trope. Loki has been characterized as Jewish before, in antisemitic ways (for reasons that are beyond me), and unfortunately, the artist (wittingly or not) decided this trope would be appropriate in the 21st century. We need to find another image. Hecticelectron (talk) 20:18, June 12, 2020 (UTC)@hecticelectron
- This is a fair point; a viewer could interpret this image as anti-semitic. I've replaced it with the artwork of Loki from On Hallowed Ground (1996), p.139, which is a more iconic depiction that better draws on the source material. BeardWizard (talk) 23:38, June 12, 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! The new image is much better, in my opinion. Hecticelectron (talk) 23:30, June 17, 2020 (UTC)
