Influence on other works[]

The cover art for this work was the first to depict Greyhawk's iconic wizard Mordenkainen as bald, using Wizards of the Coast writer Sean K. Reynolds as its model. Mordenkainen would subsequently be depicted as bald in all subsequent D&D products, canonically explained as having him shave his head in the year 589 CY, which ad an uncommonly warm summer.
