A stone giant with a bear

Stone giants are unusual amongst D&D giants in that they are not usually evil. Rather, they tend to be neutral, keeping to their cavernous homes and out of the business of most other creatures. Still, given their habitat, this is not always possible -- stone giants may be roused as antagonists or allies if pressures push them in that direction.

Description[edit | edit source]

Stone giants prefer thick leather garments, dyed in shades of brown and gray to match the stone around them. Adults are about 12 feet tall and weigh about 1,500 pounds. Stone giants can live to be 800 years old

Publication History[edit | edit source]

Stone giants were originally published in the OD&D White Box set, where the are upgraded hill giants.
