The book was written by David Noonan, John D. Rateliff and Skip Williams. Art was provided by Todd Gamble, Todd Lockwood, Wayne Reynolds and David Roach.

Song and Silence was released by Wizards of the Coast in December 2001 for $19.95 US, or $27.95 Canadian.[1]
On January 20, 2015, it was re-released in digital format. It is currently available on DriveThruRPG and Dungeon Masters Guild for $7.99.
