Shatjan are fey spirits of the reindeer herds. Protectors and defenders of the massive creatures, shatjan watch over them peacefully, at a remove.

When roused to defend their herds, the shatjan shows great agility in deep snow or slippery ice. It can exhale a blast of cold, and it also lowers the temperature around it as it fights, eventually inflicting freezing cold on anyone in he region.

Shatjan accompany reindeer herds, protecting them and watching out for them. They can speak with the creatures naturally, and also have a knack for predicting the weather, leading their herds to places where they will be safe.

Human tribes in the frozen lands often depend on reindeer herds, and consider the shatjan a sipirit to be honored, if a hunt is to go well.
