Appears along with the Illusionist in The Strategic Review 1-4. Dragon Magazine #12 maintained this spell on the Illusionist list.
- Spell Level 4
You can use the following offensive spells when you cast this, but it is semi-real. It has the same range and duration as the spell being mimicked. The spell has full effect against any who believe it to be true, and those who disbelieve it still experience some effect, as below.
- Lightning Bolt: It has 1 Hit Die for every 4 caster levels.
- Fireball: It has 1 Hit Die for every 4 caster levels.
- Wall of Fire: Deals 1d2 points of damage
- Wall of Ice: Deals 1d2 points of damage
- Death Spell: 1d8 1st-level types
Dragon Magazine #12 added some effects for disbelieved spells:
- Finger of Death: Cause Disease, or affect 2 levels
- Blade Barrier: 1d8 damage
- Cause Serious Wounds: 1 point damage
