The Sargonne Prophecies is a set of ancient rune-inscribed stone tablets describing the ancient history of the mind flayers. They are named for the ruined city of Sargonne.[1]
The tablets are cryptic, and have been interpreted by some as a prophecy. They describe a world of mind flayers "bathed in eternal night", destroyed by a fiery cataclysm from which the mind flayers flee in flying ships.
The texts record the arrival of the mind flayers some thousands of years ago.
