Development[edit | edit source]
Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio Volume 1 was designed by Bill Benham, Bart Carroll, and Mike Mearls, developed by Dan Dillon, and edited by Scott Fitzgerald Gray. Richard Whitters was the art director and Emi Tanji was the graphic designer. The cover art was by Max Dunbar, and the interior art was by Whitters, Tanji, Dunbar, Taylor Ingvarsson, Rebecca On, and Nick Southam.
The supplement was released on the Dungeon Masters Guild in support of Extra Life, with all proceeds from sales going to that charity.

As of December 15, 2019, the supplement was a gold best-seller on the Dungeon Masters Guild. Nerdarchy also gave the supplement a positive review, complimenting the included creatures, with the only major criticism reserved for the crab folk.
