Monster Mythology is a 128-page sourcebook for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition released in May 1992. It is part of the Dungeon Master's Guide Rules Supplement (DMGR) series.
Official synopsis[]
Maglubiyet... Blibdoolpoolp... Diinkarazan... Panzuriel.... Such names are whispered in the dark on the far side of midnight, or muttered fearfully around jugs of wine when old, scarred adventurers tell their tales. They are the unseen, unknown things worshipped by monsters and monstrosities. Learn all about the avatars and shamans of giants, goblins, the Underdark - even illithids and beholders - in this expansion of the popular Legends & Lore.
Content[]
Monster Mythology serves as a companion to Legends & Lore (2e) (1990), which introduced deities of various mythoi. Monster Mythology primarily describes the gods of various non-humans.
It opens with an introductory chapter describing various rules on running deities, divine abilities, avatars, and their clerics.
It describes deities of the elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings; the deities of the goblinoids (orcs, goblins, bugbears, kobolds, and others); the deities of the Underdark (including the drow, underdark dwarves, mind flayers, myconids, beholders, and svirfneblin); and the gods of the giants, of the seas and skies (aquat; of the scaly folk (reptilian and amphibious); of the dark folk (hags, undead), and the sylvan gods (fey).
