Sends a whispered message to a designated recipient.
AD&D[edit | edit source]
Message[edit | edit source]
Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a magic-user spell.
|Level: 1||School: Alteration|
|Components: V, S, M (a short piece of copper drawn fine)|
|Range: 6" + 1"/level||Casting Time: 1 segment|
|Duration: 5 segments + 1 segment/level||Saving Throw: Special|
|Area: 1/4" path|
The caster whispers a message that fits the duration (in secret or in the open) and points their finger at a target in the area. The message travels in a straight line to the target, and is audible ot that creature. Note that any obstruction blocks the spell. If there is any time remaining after hearing the message, the recipient can whisper a reply in the same way.
DM's Advice: The caster speaks normally in any language they know or making any sounds they can -- the spell does not necessarily convey understanding to the recipient.
