Magic: The Gathering is the first collectible card game, launched by Wizards of the Coast in 1993. Each set of the card game is set in a different world within the game's multiverse, such as Dominaria or Zendikar.
Beginning in 2016, Wizards released a series of free digital sourcebooks called Plane Shift, which adapted various worlds from Magic's multiverse for use in Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. In 2018, Wizards released the Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica (2018), which adapted the Magic setting of Ravnica as a D&D 5e campaign setting. This was followed by Mythic Odysseys of Theros (2020), which adapted Theros as a D&D 5e setting.
