Lupercio, Baron of Sloth, is the demon lord of Slugbed, the 128th layer of the Abyss. He is the Abyssal patron of sloth and darkness.

Appearance and personality

Baron Lupercio appears as an amorphous form of darkness. Light seems to wrap around his body, preventing his true form from being seen.[1]

Lupercio can be recognized by his fiendish smile of sharpened teeth, and his terrifying deep cackle.[1]

His capacity for laziness is legendary. Lupercio spends long periods of time resting, often in a dung-filled riverbed at his home realm. When he does acquire the wish to take action, it is in short, manic bursts of energy.

Like all tanar'ri, Lupercio is chaotic evil in alignment.

Abilities and traits

According to tanar'ri legend, Lupercio's strength is unsurpassed, and there is nothing in the Abyss which he cannot lift—when he can find the motivation. He is thought by some to be the perfect embodiment of the power of darkness.[1]

According to the Mors Mysterium Nominium, Lupercio's mother is the obyrith lord Pale Night.[2]

Taran Psatrigent, the alkilith, claims to be a personal friend of Lupercio, and that the two visited the demon lord Eldanoth together. This claim is unproven.[1]

Baron Lupercio is ruler of Slugbed, the 128th layer of the Abyss. He also has small lairs on other layers of the Abyss.[1].

When resting in his home realm, all light sources within ten miles of Lupercio fail.
