Kingdoms of Kalamar is a fantasy role-playing game campaign setting created by Kenzer and Company. The setting originated in 1994 with a series of products usable with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition, but not officially licensed or endorsed by TSR.
In 2000, Kingdoms of Kalamar was officially licensed as a Dungeons & Dragons setting, and a line of products compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 3rd edition was launched in 2001, beginning with the Kingdoms of Kalamar Campaign Setting Sourcebook. Unlike similar third-party lines of the era, such as the Sword and Sorcery Studios Ravenloft line and the Sovereign Press Dragonlance line, Kingdoms of Kalamar products bore the official Dungeons & Dragons logo for most of its run; however, some later products, beginning with Svimohzia: The Ancient Isle (2007), were released without the logo. Kenzer's Dungeons & Dragons license finally expired in 2007.
The Kingdoms of Kalamar setting was subsequently updated for use with Dungeons & Dragons 4th edition, once again on an unofficial basis. The setting was also used as the default setting for the second version of Kenzer's HackMaster role-playing game.
