Ice toads are dimly intelligent predators of great size who dwell in icy areas. Like other toads, it hunts using stealth and a lightning-fast tongue. Unlike other toads, it's big enough to hunt small humanoids.

When hunting, the ice toad attacks from hiding, using its tongue to get the drop on a distant opponent. It then reels the victim in, and bites it (or swallows it whole), digesting it quickly.
If prey fights back (or if it is disturbed), it releases a blast of cold energy from its body that is often enough to put off any rescue attempt.
