Hofund is the king of Glaesisvoll.

King Hofund husband of Hervor, the female viking. They have two children, the kind and gentle Angantyr, and the malicious and spiteful Heidrek. Angantry is Hofund's favorite.[1]

Creative origins[]

In the original 13th century Icelandic saga Hervarar saga ok Heiðreks (The Saga of Hervör and Heidrek), Höfund is the son of King Gudmund, who arranges for him to marry Hervor. Hervor has recently recently retired from a career as a viking in male guise, and had previously impressed Gudmund by advising him at chess.[2]
