Hnoss is the daughter of the Norse deities Odur and Freya. Her name means "gem".[1] Little else is known about her.
Creative origins[]
In the 13th century Prose Edda, Hnoss is said to be so beautiful, that treasures in are known in the Old Norse language as hnossir. In the chapter Skaldskaparmal, Freya is said to have a second daughter, Gersemi, who is not attested in any D&D canon.
According to Anthony Faulkes' translation, Hnoss and Gersemi both mean "treasure".
