Hero Builder's Guidebook was written by Ryan Dancy, David Noonan, and John D. Rateliff. Art was provided by Victoria Ausland, Chas DeLong, Josh Fischer, and Sherry Floyd.

Hero Builder's Guidebook was released by Wizards of the Coast in December 2000 for $14.95 US.[1]
On July 28, 2015, it was re-released in digital format. It is currently available on DriveThruRPG and Dungeon Masters Guild for $6.99.
