The Great Library of Greyhawk is a wiki detailing the World of Greyhawk campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons. It focuses on detailing the official lore of the setting, from the original 1980s sourcebooks to current-edition references.
It is currently the largest and most detailed Greyhawk wiki, with over 4,500 articles.
History[]
Founding[]
The Great Library of Greyhawk was originally founded on July 20, 2007, at the Canonfire! World of Greyhawk community. It was instituted by Canonfire! founder and Greyhawk writer Gary Holian, based on a suggestion by forum user Robbastard. The site's official launch date was September 10, 2007.
The name "Great Library of Greyhawk" was suggested by user Robbastard on August 22, 2007, and was accepted on 5 October 2008.
In February 2009, the wiki reached the milestone of 1,000 articles.
Outages[]
In April and May 2012, users began reporting technical issues accessing the site.[1] It was restored around May 24, 2012, and continued until at least 2014.
At a later date, the Greyhawk wiki suffered an extended outage.
On 4 March 2017, the domain greyparticle.com was registered. The wiki was subsequently re-established at the domain wiki.greyparticle.com.
In March 2018, it was reported that the greyparticle wiki was down, after the domain and hosting expired. A temporary mirror was established at https://wait-wtf.com/wiki.[2] The outage lasted until December 6, 2018, when it was re-established at ghwiki.greyparticle.com.
Greyhawk Online[]
On December 6, 2018, the administrator of Greyhawk Online, another long-standing Greyhawk fan-website, established a fork of the Great Library of Greyhawk, importing also content from the Greyhawk wiki at Wikia (now Fandom).
Subsequent community efforts lead the Great Library of Greyhawk at Greyhawk Online to grow from around 1,500 pages in 2018 to around 4,500 pages at the beginning of 2025.
