An eye of flame is an unusually docile form of beholder. While still malevolent, eyes of flame are willing to serve beneath more powerful beholders.[1]

Description

Eyes of flame are visually akin to normal beholders.[1]

Personality

Eyes of flame are distinct from other beholders in that they lack the extreme arrogance and egotistical attitude that holds regular beholders back. They willingly cooperate with each other and also submit to the orders of other beholders with less resistance.[1]

Abilities

The eye of flame's central eye renders those caught within its gaze vulnerable to fire and prone to catching fire. After sustaining serious damage or after death, the inner fire of an eye of flame erupts in dangerous bursts, damaging those around it.[1]

Unlike normal beholders, they have only three eye ray types, despite possessing ten stalks. They can only fire two rays at once and have to use their fiery rays while they attack, although this is usually not a problem. Besides a heat ray, they also possess the beholder's fear and telekinetic rays.[1]

When fighting, eyes of flames will float behind groups of servant brute warriors using their eye blasts, rather than fight foes directly.[1]
