The article Varied Player Character And Non-Player Character Alignment in the Dungeons & Dragons Campaign was a response to reports from fanzines and readers' letters suggesting in-party alignment-based conflict.[1] Gygax's suggestion was to have players simply lie about their alignment until they reach high enough level to survive party conflict.
