Chris Thomasson came up with the issue's theme of "Ninjas, Pirates, and Dinosaurs".[1]
Release[]
Dragon #318 was released by Paizo Publishing in April 2004 for $5.99 US or $8.99 Canadian.
Paizo Publishing later released a PDF copy of this issue for $4.95 US. Paizo's contract with Wizards permitted them to release digital copies of any issue once print back issues were depleted,[2] eventually releasing digital downloads of issues #274 to #345. These PDFs were high quality digital-origin rather than scanned, watermarked but DRM-free, and omitted advertising. Due to licensing restrictions, some comics were also omitted. The PDFs were withdrawn from sale by early 2024.
