The spell first appeared in Supplement 3: Eldritch Wizardry, for the druid.

The caster locates any magical or mechanical traps within a radius of 3" for the duration., as long as they are outdoors.

Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a druid spell.

Outdoors, this spell makes apparent to the caster all forms of traps (deadfalls, missile traps, snares, etc.) that are in the area. Underground, the spell is only able to detect simple pits, not all forms of traps.
