AD&D[edit | edit source]
Clairaudience[edit | edit source]
Debuted in the Player's Handbook as a magic-user spell.
|Level: 3||School: Divination|
|Components: V, S, M (a silver horn of at least 100 gp value, consumed by the spell)|
|Range: Special||Casting Time: 3 segments|
|Duration: 1 round/level||Saving Throw: None|
|Area: Within 6" of a place familiar to the caster|
The caster hears in their mind whatever noise occurs in the area. The location can be any distance away from the caster (though it must be on the same plane), as long as it is familiar or obvious to the caster. The caster's hearing via the spell is normal. Metal sheeting and magical protections can prevent the operation of this spell.
