Up to 2 HD or levels per caster level of extraplanar creatures in the area of the spell are banished from their current plane if they fail a save vs. spell. The caster must speak the type of creatures they wish to affect, as well as name and title of any creatures they desire to banish. The creatures are allowed to roll Magic Resistance, if any, and if that fails, they are allowed a saving throw to negate. If the creature makes the saving throw, the caster takes 2d6 points of damage and is stunned for one round from magical backlash.
A banished creature cannot return to the plane it has been banished from unless specifically summoned, or it enters through a portal.
A caster may increase the power of the spell by using additional or rare material components. Every additional item after the first imposes a 5% magic resistance penalty and a -2 saving throw penalty. Rare substances may impose more dramatic penalties.
