A Tiefling's Lament is a poem written from the perspective of a tiefling. Its themes include the isolation of the tiefling, a race often orphaned at birth and who rarely acquire status in society.
A well-known excerpt from this poem reads:[1]
- I've no home,
- no warm place to call kip,
- I've no fam'ly,
- no birthright nor kin.
- I am I, nothing more.
Reciting this poem is a key to opening the planar portal between Shra'kt'lor in Limbo and the plane of Baator.[2]
